Advertisement for the post of Junior Project Assistant (02 Nos.) in the School
of Biological Sciences, UM-DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences
University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) has been established on the Kalina campus of the University of Mumbai to impart high-quality education in the Basic Sciences after the 10+2 (or equivalent) level of schooling, in a vibrant academic ambiance by a faculty of distinguished teachers and scientists.
CEBS invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Project Assistant in the School of Biological Sciences to work on the following projects:
Post I
Name of the Post – Junior Project Assistant
No. of Posts – 01
Name of the Project – Understanding the molecular interactions of banana-Fusarium pathosystem.
Age – Should not
exceed 30 years as on December 31, 2022.Tenure – The position is offered on an annual renewable basis and is tenable for up to two years.
Emoluments: Selected candidate will be paid monthly emoluments of Rs. 31,000 pm /- plus 24 % HRA, if not residing in Govt. accommodation. No accommodation will be provided by the institute during this tenure.
Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Life Science/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Botany/ Zoology or related disciplines with at least First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) or equivalent in the last qualifying degree.
Desirable Experience – Handling of microbial cultures, plant tissue culture, molecular biology, and cell biology.
Post II
Name of the Post – Junior Project Assistant
No. of Posts – 01
Name of the Project – Developing epigenetic models for drug screening
Age – Should not exceed 30 years as on December 31, 2022.
Tenure – The position is offered on an annual renewable basis and is tenable for up to two years.
Emoluments: Selected candidate will be paid monthly emoluments of Rs. 31,000 pm /- plus 24 % HRA, if not residing in Govt. accommodation. No accommodation will be provided by the institute during this tenure.
Essential Qualifications – M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Life Science/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Botany/ Zoology or related disciplines with at least First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) or equivalent in the last qualifying degree.
Desirable Experience – Handling of microbial cultures, algal cultures, molecular biology, and epigenetics.
