WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for a walk-in-interview on 23rd May 2022
(Monday) at 11.00 a.m. for recruitment of one Senior Research Fellows (SRFs) in different
research projects as mentioned below purely on a contractual basis at the Division of Vegetable Science, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi-12.

Post I

Name of the Post – Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Name of the Project – DUS testing of varieties under registration and maintenance of
reference varieties of onion and garlic (PPV&FRA, New Delhi)

Post II

Name of the Post – Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

No. of Posts – 01

Name of the Project – CRP Hybrid Technology (Cauliflower) (ICAR)

Terms and Conditions –

1. Age limit – Maximum age 35 years for SRF (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC).
2. The post is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis initially for a period of one year, which may be extended periodically subject to performance till the termination of the project.
3. The selected candidate shall not claim regular appointments at this Institute, as the post is coterminous with the project.
4. The interview for eligible candidates will be held on 23rd May 2022 (Monday) at 11.00 PM in the Division of Vegetable Science, ICAR-IARI, Pusa Campus, New Delhi-110 012.
5. Reporting time for Interview – 9.30 AM in Seminar Hall, Division of Vegetable
   Science, IARI, New Delhi – 12.
6. The candidates will have to compulsorily bring the filled in application form (as per the
   format annexed), all the original certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth
   certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, degree certificate either original or provisional,
   and one set of the self-attested photocopies of all the required certificates from
   matriculation onwards and an attested copy of recent passport size photograph pasted
   onto the application form. Proof of experience and publications also need to be submitted.
7. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
8. Only candidates having essential qualifications would be entertained for the interview.
9. Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or
   termination.
10. The candidates are required to submit the application at the time of the interview as per the format annexed along with the declaration.
11. The candidate intending to visit for the interview, if any of his near or distant relatives is
    an employee of the ICAR/IARI, has to declare his/her name, designation, nature of
    duties, and relationship in writing so as to reach by 20th May 2022. If on the date of the interview such declaration is furnished and found that his relative is an employee of
    ICAR/IARI, such a candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
12. All the other candidates are also required compulsorily to furnish the declaration duly signed in the format annexed and submit on the date of the interview.
13. The candidates have to strictly submit the form annexed (typed/ filled) duly signed on
    the date of the interview.
14. Four copies of CV in the prescribed format and one set of self-attested copies of the proof of documents.
15. The candidates are required to submit the application either through email to PI

Declaration – The candidate intending to appear in the interview has to declare the name,
the designation, nature of duties, and relationship in writing if any of his/her near or distant relatives is an employee of the ICAR/IARI.

For Post I

Emoluments – Rs. 35,000/- + 24% HRA

Essential Qualifications – Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (i.e. Horticulture/Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Agricultural Biotechnology) OR Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (i.e., Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Plant Science/ Life Sciences) with 2 years of research experience post-MSc qualification.
The Ph. D qualification shall be considered as research experience if it is in the same area as the Master’s degree (detailed Guidelines mentioned in SR/S9/Z08/2018 dt. 30.01.2019).
Candidates must have been selected through a process described through any one of the following

a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests –CSIR-UGC NET including
lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.

b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

Desirable – Experience in field studies, experimental designs, biochemical analysis, statistical analysis, molecular markers and proficiency in computer skills.

For Post II

Emoluments – Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA

Essential Qualifications – Master degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/ Vegetable/Plant Breeding and Genetics/ Plant Biotechnology/Life Sciences with specialization in
Vegetables/ Plant Breeding/ Genetics/ Plant Biotechnology with 4 or 5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates having a Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years A Master’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2
years of research experience (detailed Guidelines mentioned in SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dt. 30.01.2019 & No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 30th July, 2019 of ICAR)

Desirable – Research experience in handling field trials, molecular (PCR, RT-PCR) & biochemical techniques (HPLC, AAS, Spectrometry) and disease screening (in vitro and field condition)
