WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

The following post is to be filled up on a purely temporary basis under the ad-hoc research project entitled “Development of precision antimicrobial therapy through identification of virulence factor targets conferring maximum fitness loss” funded by ICMR as an extramural grant under Dr Santasabuj Das, Scientist ‘F’ and P.I. of the project.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:

1. Bring the filled-in application with one set of photocopy of qualifications and experience and other testimonials along with photographs as mentioned above.
2. The candidate should submit all certificates/ testimonials in original for verification. Candidates who fail to bring the Original Certificates will not be considered for a written test/walk-in interview.
3. Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST and OBC (Govt. of India non-creamy layer certificate) candidates, Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including project) and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons.
4. Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment.
5. No-Objection Certificate from the current employer (for Govt./AB/PSU Servants only).
6. All posts are contractual for the duration offered with a consolidated salary only. The engagement may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirement.
7. The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments or continuation of his/her services in the same or any other project.
8. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/walk-in-interview.
9. The Director, ICMR-NICED reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts, without assigning any reasons thereof, no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
10. Any further information may be downloaded from the ICMR-NICED website and will be updated from time to time.
11. The date of the Walk-in written test/Interview may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence, candidates are advised to check the website before appearing for the written test/walk-in interview.

Salary: Rs. 47,000/- plus HRA

Essential Qualifications:

1. PhD in Bioinformatics or Life Sciences with extensive use of Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology in the thesis work from a University or Institute recognized
   by UGC (original or Provisional PhD degree certificate is mandatory).
2. Expertise in different programming languages and their applications (R, Perl, Python, PHP, MySQL (Python/R)

Desirable:

1. Postdoctoral experience in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology from reputed institute/university.
2. Experience and expertise in high throughput genomic and proteomic data analysis, protein-protein interaction studies using machine learning techniques, molecular docking and thermodynamics.
