Job description:

Roles and also Responsibilities

1. Equipment management at the TBI facility consisting of commissioning, installation as well as initial validation.
2. Coordinate with authorized service providers/ manufacturers as well as sections for preventive maintenance and also breakdown maintenance. Authorized to dispose of complaints as well as service calls associated with equipment
3. Manage the daily operations of the equipment/ laboratory by the incubates/ students.
4. Including inventory management, equipment usage schedule, safety protocols implementation etc
5. Help with and train the incubates/students regarding the usage of the equipment.
6. Analyze and also recommend the equipment to be installed as per the requirements of the incubates as well as TBI in general. Manage the purchase of the spares and also consumables based on the requirement.
7. Maintain Assets/equipment listing at the TBI facility. To coordinate with the maintenance team to decommission equipment beyond repair for scrap.
8. Coordinate with different departments of IISER Mohali regarding the equipment/lab requirement of the incubates and also connect the incubate with the respective department as per the project requirement.
9. Draft the safety rules to be followed in the laboratory and ensure their implementation
10. Maintain Laboratory reports and equipment usage track record
11. Networking with the various other research institutes as well as collaboration with them for technical support to the incubates
12. Assist the Chief Executive Officer of TBI IISER Mohali in regular operations of the TBI consisting of administration work, organizing meetings, networking, reporting etc.

Mode of Selection:

Required Qualifications:

Essential:

• Post-graduation in science stream (M. Sc in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Food Technology or comparable) OR Graduation/post-graduation in engineering (B. Tech/B. E./ M. Tech./ M. E in Chemical engineering, Biotechnology, Food Technology or similar).
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as technical assistant/manager/executive/ officer in research laboratories, quality control, R&D at any type of government or private institute/industry.

Desirable skills: Work experience in science incubator laboratories. Experience in operations of equipment like HPLC, UV spectrophotometer, Centrifuge, etc.
