POSITION: Laboratory Technician (Microbiology)

Location: Bengaluru, India

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Laboratory Technician (Microbiology) will have responsibility to assist Senior
Microbiologist in preparing, maintaining, and sterilizing (washing, and autoclaving) laboratory materials, supplies, and associated equipment.

CORE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support services by performing technical work in a microbiology laboratory; prepare, maintain, and sterilize (washing, and autoclaving) laboratory materials, supplies, and associated equipment; performs related duties as required.
• Prepare pour plates and other duties as assigned for microbiology laboratory.
• Prepare (cutting, washing, autoclaving) textile samples for microbiology laboratory.
• Receives and stocks materials, supplies, and equipment for laboratory use. Take note of stock materials and supplies periodically.
• Calibrates, maintains, and performs repairs on scientific equipment and supplies.
• Pick up/Deliver materials from/to courier services, testing laboratories and other places as required.
• Perform routine work as required.
• Work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of MS Word, and MS Excel.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Hands on experience in handling biological waste disposal, cleaning, and autoclaving.
• Experience working with Microbiology/Chemistry laboratory equipment.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• BSc in microbiology
• Diploma in microbiology/chemistry with 2-3 years of experience as laboratory technician
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, Outlook,
  PowerPoint
