Advt No.2/2021 : Data analyst (Bioinformatician) position on GenomeIndia project
Job Description:
We are looking for a Data Analyst (Bioinformatician) to work on a multi-institution consortium project “Genomelndia: Cataloguing the Genetic Variation in Indians”, funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The applicant will certainly be based in NCBS as well as is expected to develop computational methods and apply machine learning approaches to analyse the genetic variants generated from the whole-genome sequencing (WGS).
Number of position: 1
Period: The position will be for 1 year based on a performance review after 3 months. At the end of the first year, there will be potential for extending the contract by another year.
Age limit: 35 years.

Qualification & Experience required:
- B. Tech or M.Sc in Bioinformatics/Computer Science/Life Sciences (with minimal 75% of marks).
- At least one-year project experience that includes programming and also Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis.
- Programming experience in Python/R or any other language, and also basic knowledge in bioinformatics workflow management (e.g., next flow) and also biostatistics.
- Ability to work both independently and also collaboratively.
Wage: Rs. 31,000/- (Consolidated).
