About the Programme
The School of Biological Sciences at National Institute of Science Education and Research invites applications for the Long-Term / Dissertation Project Work Programme for August–December 2026.
The programme is designed for postgraduate and integrated MSc students pursuing dissertation or thesis work in Biological Sciences. Selected students will work under the supervision of faculty members on active research projects involving experimental work, data analysis, and dissertation preparation.
Programme Duration
- Programme Type: Long-Term / Dissertation Project
- Duration: Maximum 5 Months
- Programme Period: August – December 2026
Extension beyond 5 months is generally not permitted. In exceptional cases, one extension may be considered based on performance and project requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled in PG or Integrated MSc programmes related to Biological Sciences at recognized universities or institutions.
- Require dissertation/thesis work as part of their academic curriculum.
Important Conditions
Candidates who have previously availed this programme at NISER are not eligible to apply again. Applications will only be considered for advertised faculty vacancies/research areas.

- Students must maintain confidentiality regarding institute data and laboratory activities.
- Strict disciplinary action may be taken in case of misconduct or policy violations.
- Hostel, library, and internet facilities must be used according to institute regulations.
