Name of the Project: Epigenetic modulation of centromeres to produce in vivo haploids by triggering uniparental genome elimination in plants
Funding Agency: Ministry of Education, Govt. of India
Tenure of the post: 1 year, extendable based on performance up to 2 years or till completion of the project whichever is earlier.
Age Max: 35 years ( upper age limit)

Fellowship amount: Rs.35,000 plus HRA as applicable
Minimum Educational qualification (as prescribed by the financing agency):
- Postgraduate degree in any kind of area of biological sciences OR Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Professional course chosen through a process described via any one of the following:
- Scholars that are selected with National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship( Assistant Professorship) as well as GATE
- The selection process with National level examinations conducted by Central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.,
- Two years of research experience
Preference: Candidate should be highly motivated to do basic research in biology. An academically excellent applicant with technological proficiency in recombinant DNA(rDNA) technology especially in cloning, designing as well as making gene constructs, growing and also managing plants. Applicants that have experience in handling Arabidopsis plants is a plus yet not compulsory.
