Job Title: Senior R & D Executive/Asst. R & D Manager – Unilever International F&R

Purpose & Context:
Unilever International is Unilever’s White Space Arm with 7 operating clusters. It has a crossed a TO of 1 Billion Euro, exit 2019.
Singapore is UI’s global hub which leads strategy, marketing thinking, seeding plans, alignment with the global categories and supply chain whereas the R&D is led mainly from India.
This position will be reporting to the product development manager of F&R, UI Global R&D and will be based in Bangalore, India.
Deliverables:
The job will lead all the R&D interventions for product development & regulatory compliance (through PSOs) F&R for all clusters globally. Major F&B manufacturing locations in scope include SA and EU, US whereas exports of products happen into multiple clusters including SEA
, EU, US and SEAA- Support the development of formula & prototyping in close coordination with GDC and ensure deployment OTIF for all UI projects as per requirement
- Work closely with 3 PM to support FLASH projects. Ensure all R&D technical compliance, work with SEAC on consumer safety clearance, guide the 3 PM to develop complaint recipes as per launch country, ensure all internal UL guidelines of FLASH is met
- Drive the regulatory assessment for the F&R UI portfolio through PSOs globally. Work with cluster marketing people to ensure label/artwork compliance.
- Develop savings ideas in close working with categories and implement these within agreed R&D framework
- Leverage category KBS toolkit for adaptation in UI F&R portfolio
- Develop and maintain a close connection with GDC and RDCs for F&R
Key deliverables for Tea International projects:
- Work Closely with all 3 PM/other UL LD teams, to develop blends matching all requirements of the business
- Responsible for the specification of formulation, process and Quality Assurance regimes to support/enforce these specs / agreed on technical action standards. Support the local deploy team with creation of general recipe in PLM
- Drive rigour, risk assessment & mitigation, safety during projects delivery.
- Travel to factories for sourcing and exclusive UI/FLASH projects
- Responsible for project execution in line with the best practices; Manage expectations of key stakeholders by providing regular feedback on project progress.
Required Professional skills:
- Excellent Knowledge on tea blends, specifications & origins, other beverage format and having good sensory acumen must.
- Must have technical expertise on Tea and other F&R categories
- Post Graduate – MSc Food Technology/B.Tech Chemical Engg
- Project management skills and good stakeholder management
- Good verbal/written communication skills
- Dealing with people from multicultural backgrounds.
- Multi-tasking ability
- Ability to work independently with Cross-functional multi-national team members
- Ability to travel International as needed
