Name of the Project: Development of Haploid inducer stocks in indica rice through genetic manipulation of CenH3and MTL genes using genome-editing approach
Funding Agency: DBT ( Department of Biotechnology), Government of India
Tenure of the post: One year, extendable based on performance up to three years or till completion of the project whichever is earlier
Age: Max 35 years

Fellowship amount: 35,000+HRA as applicable
Minimum Educational eligibility ( as prescribed by the financing agency): Postgraduate degree in any area of biological sciences OR Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Professional course selected via a process described via any one of the following: Scholars that are chosen through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship( Assistant Professorship) and also GATE The selection process via National level examinations conducted by Central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc., Two years of research experience.
Preference: Candidate must be highly motivated to do basic research in biology. An academically excellent applicant with technical proficiency in recombinant DNA( rDNA) technology specifically in cloning, designing and also making gene constructs, growing and managing plants.
