I would like to sponsor positions for the deserving Post Doctorate Fellows (Research
Associate) who wish to apply in my lab. With me as a mentor, the project will be written by the candidate, assisted by me for applying to the fellowships like DBT-RA, NPDF, WOS-A,B,
ICMR-RA, INSA etc. If and when the project is granted, I will be happy to accommodate the
candidate in my Lab and extend all the facilities and knowledge in the fields of Molecular
Biology, Protein Chemistry and Virology. Our Lab works on following four projects: The
selected candidate will work on the project.
“Identification and Validation of Drug-Like Inhibitors against SARS-Cov2 Replication”
Alternate, Person selected can work on any of
the following ongoing projects:- Development of in vitro HEV Culture system to establish the role of its enzymes and their inhibitors to study the replication cycle of the virus. (DST)
- Biochemical and Biophysical characterization of the non-structural enzymes of HEV
involving their crystallization to find out their inhibitors that may act as putative drug
candidates. (DBT) - Study the mechanism of processing of HEV polyprotein leading to its cleavage into Nonstructural enzymes. (DST)
- Modelling and simulation of the non-structural enzymes to predict the active site and its
inhibitors using virtual screening ( WOSA) - Finding out cleavage sites on HEV polyprotein by mutagenizing Cysteine protease, the
digesting enzyme,
