Recruitment of Temporary Positions (Senior Project Associate & Project Associate-I) for COVID Testing Laboratory
CSIR– Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysuru a constituent national laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), welcomes applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of 1 (one) position of Senior Project Associate & 1 (one) position of Project Associate-I at first for a duration of 6 months or till the project is over on a temporary contractual basis to establish a Testing and Validation Centre for COVID samples at CSIR-CFTRI/designated premises at Mysuru, Karnataka.
Mode of Selection: Selection is to be done on the basis of online Interview with Skype.
Terms and Conditions:
- The engagement will certainly be on totally temporary and contractual basis for a maximum duration of Six Months which might be extended or curtailed depending on the period of the project/desired degree.

- The engagement under this project does not confer any right/ claim whatsoever either explicitly or implicitly on the appointee for regular appointments in CSIR-CFTRI/CSIR, against any post or otherwise under any legal conditions precedent. It would certainly, therefore, not confer any right/claim, implicit or explicit, for the candidates for regularization/absorption against any post in CSIR/CFTRI or under any other scheme of CSIR.
- Performance of the Project staff would be evaluated regularly to ensure that anyone not located up to the mark, could be terminated with one month’s notice or one month’s gratuity in lieu thereof.
- If already the candidate is working in CSIR-CFTRI or in any other CSIR laboratories “No objection certification” from the PI needs to be submitted.
- Age relaxations will apply as per GOI guidelines.
- The date for determining the upper age limit, qualifications and/or experience shall be the closing date prescribed for submission of applications i.e. 08.05.2020.
- The duration of experience in a discipline/area of work, wherever prescribed, need to be in the relevant area of work/field indicated against such position which shall be counted after the date of obtaining the minimum essential educational qualifications prescribed for that position.
- Final semester and results awaited applicants are not eligible to apply or will certainly not be permitted to appear for Interview.
- TA/DA will not be paid for reporting to duty.
- If the number of candidates applied for the above posts are large in numbers, the selection committee will certainly additionally shortlist the applicants on the basis of suitable shortlisting criteria to fulfil the desired objectives.

Essential Qualification:
M.Sc/ B.Tech in Biotechnology/Virology/ Microbiology/Biochemistry/ M.VSc. from a
recognized university with 4 years of experiences in molecular biology work.
OR
Doctoral degree in Biotechnology/ Virology/Microbiology/Biochemistry Biochemistry/M. VSc. from a recognized university with experience in molecular biology techniques.
OR
MD/MS from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification: Masters degree with at the very least one-year hands-on experience of handling of RNA/DNA, Real-Time PCR, Handling of viral societies/ Medical
specimen/molecular biology work.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 42,000/- plus HRA

Desirable Qualification: Masters degree with at the very least one-year hands-on experience in R&D, Hospital/Pathology, Knowledge of Molecular Biology Techniques.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA
