IISER Thiruvananthapuram offers a two-month visiting students program during summer 2020 to allow motivated students to work with IISER faculty. Bachelors and Masters students in science/engineering with an inclination towards research in basic sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Maths and also Physics) are invited to make an application for the programme. Preference will certainly be given to second-year BSc, III year BE/BTech and 1st year MSc/MTech (or equivalent degree) students. The application must be filled up by the applicant online on or prior to 20th March 2020. Applicants can apply to only one school and also will certainly have to select 3 faculties (in order of their preference) in the respective school where he/she would like to work. Every effort will be made to assign a faculty requested by the candidate in the choice sheet during the application, however, it is not guaranteed. Hence it is possible that the selected candidates

might be assigned, different faculty. Two reference letters from teachers who know the candidate well enough to write with candour, detail as well as objectivity about the candidates academic and personal accomplishments and potential must be completed on the internet directly by the referees on or prior to 20th March 2020. Upon submission of the application by the applicant, an email will be sent to each referee with a link to submit their reference letter. The applicants are requested to make sure with their referees that their reference is submitted online on schedule. Selected students for the programme will be given a scholarship of Rs. 5000/- per month. If you have your own summer visiting programme fellowship (e.g. KVPY/Inspire etc.) please indicate that in your application. Accommodation (in between 15 May and also 25 July, 2020) and Mess facilities will be provided at a nominal cost. Selected students will certainly be intimated by email.

General Application Guidelines To The Applicants:

II BSc students need to provide first-year marks sheet, likewise III Year BE/BTech students should provide II Year marks sheet and I year MSc/MTech students ought to provide UG III year mark sheet in the form of uploaded soft copy of the same.
