IAAM Annual Conference on Microbiology In The New Millenium
Indian Association of Applied Microbiologists is one of the representative voluntary organizations of Microbiologists of basic and applied aspects, which looks after the interest of many eminent microbiologists, students and the wellbeing of the society. Indian Association of Applied Microbiologists was formed in the year 2000 under Tamil Nadu Society’s Registration Act 1975, under the leadership of Prof Dr. P. Rajendran. As an organization, it has continued to play an important role in its deliberations to help in R&D in the field of Microbiology. So far it has proudly hosted sixteen National Conferences in various parts of South India. Today it stands as a well-established Association which organizes periodic meetings, symposia, workshops and special lectures by eminent scientists world over.
This call expires in :
17th IAAM National Conference on
“MICROBIOLOGY IN THE NEW MILLENIUM”
On Novermber 29 &30, 2019
Jointly organized by
KALASALINGAM ACADEMY OF RESEARCH AND EDUCATION
AND
INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF APPLIED MICROBIOLOGISTS
THEME OF THE CONFERENCE
Microbiology is a wide-spread discipline covering the biology of a vast network of bacteria, viruses, protozoa and fungi. In recent years our knowledge on how microbes function has expanded vastly at a molecular level. There are tremendous progress in areas of agriculture and food production, vaccines and microbial genomics. Recent studies on microbiota of human at various body sites particularly in the gut are leading to the greater understanding of the influence of microorganisms and the way they affect the host. Composition of microbiome are demonstrated to be associated with non-infectious diseases including autoimmune diseases, cancer, diabetes etc.
This conference will bring in experts in microbiology from both academia and industry, from India and abroad. The meeting will update current knowledge on various processes involving microorganisms and their impact on human welfare and will provide a platform for sharing and gaining insights into recent innovations in microbiology and allied fields.
The Conference includes the following thrust areas:
- Role of microbes in Agriculture and Environment
- Food and Industrial Microbiology
- Microbiota in human health and diseases
- Microbial Genomics and Computational techniques in genome analysis
- Microbial Proteomics and Metabolomics
- Therapeutic Microbial metabolites
- Designing of newer drugs and vaccines
Awards:
To honour established scientists and teachers and motivate young researchers who excel in their research areas, the Association has instituted the following Awards. Competitors are requested to mention the name of the award during submission of application. All awards will be presented during the valedictory ceremony on November 30, 2019 except for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
