ADMISSION NOTICE (PhD Admission) 2018-19

Netaji Subhas University of Technology, New Delhi (NSUT) has been established as State University by Government of NCT of Delhi and Is Currently Considered as one of the Greatest Technical Universities of India.

NSUT was upgraded from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) in 2018, tracing back 35 years of history of nurturing some of the best minds in the country.

The University intends to identify suitable candidates having a keen interest in research and teaching who’d like to take a career in Academics and R&D. Exceptionally brilliant candidates with a keen interest in an academic career shall be considered for University Teaching-cum-Research Fellowship (TRF). Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for the PhD programme in a variety of disciplines (ECE/ICE/Mechanical/COE/IT/BT/Physics/Chemistry/Maths/English and Management) for the academic year 2018-19. The candidates that have applied online and submitted the fee in April 2018 should apply again, but no program fee will be billed from these applicants. The classes of admissions are given as under

a. Research scholars together with University Teaching-cum-Research Fellowship.
b. Research scholars with a fellowship from other sponsoring agencies (UGC/DST/CSIR/DBT/ICMR etc.).
c. Research Scholars with no fellowship (self-financing mode).

Eligibility Criteria:

An applicant possessing a Master Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Sciences/ Management/ Humanities/Social Sciences in the respective discipline or equivalent with minimum 60% of marks or equal Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and Bachelor’s Degree with a 60 percent of marks or equivalent CGPA shall be eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D. programme of this University. On the other hand, the candidates applying for Teaching-cum-Research Fellowship (TRF) shall be asked to have a Master Degree from the various discipline with 70% marks or equivalent CGPA and a Bachelor’s Degree with a 60 percent of marks or equivalent CGPA.

In case the equivalence between the percentage of marks and CGPA isn’t defined by the University from where the candidate has obtained the qualifying degree, then the UGC/AICTE equivalence criteria shall be applicable. Refer to Appendix -I to the details of eligibility in regards to Master Degree in Engineering/Technology/Sciences/ Management/Humanities/Social Sciences is as follows:


a. Research scholars together with University Teaching-cum-Research Fellowship (TRF).
b. Research scholars together with a fellowship from their sponsoring agencies (UGC/DST/CSIR/DBT/ICMR etc.).
c. Research Fellow with no fellowship (self-financing mode).
