Project Oriented Biology Education (POBE)
As a Part of its Science Outreach Programme, in 2006 the Centre Pioneered a new programme in
Biology for undergraduate students from other Institutions. Selected students are exposed to the Concepts and methodologies driving integrative research in biology today, through a combination Of lectures, lab projects and research. The programme will be conducted during the Summer holiday for an interval of 6 to 8 weeks. Students chosen are expected to work at the Centre for three successive summers and successful applicants will receive a Diploma in Biology by the Centre. Specialization in a more concentrated area of research will be possible Throughout the second and third year. People who finish the POBE programme together with outstanding Performance will qualify for admission to the
MS-PhD programme of this Centre subject to Satisfactory performance in the interview.Eligibility: Students currently studying in the 1 st year of a three-year B.Sc programme only (in any science Stream) are qualified to apply.
Fellowships: The total number of Fellowships offered will be upto11. A scholarship of Rs. 10000/- a month Will be provided.

The list of selected candidates will be declared on the JNCASR web site http://www.jncasr.ac.in/fe/pobe.php during April 2019. The chosen candidates will be Intimated by post and email. Further correspondence or enquiries Concerning the application status Won’t be entertained. Mere applying to the programme and also fulfilling the eligibility criteria Doesn’t guarantee selection. Selected candidates should indicate their acceptance within two Weeks of this email sent or else it will be presumed that they are uninterested in joining the Programme and the offer will be cancelled automatically. Any correspondence following the Cancellation won’t be entertained.
