American Society for Microbiology (ASM) in partnership with the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF) announces the ASM-IUSSTF Indo-US Professorship in Microbiology. This program is available to ASM members and non-members alike. This program seeks to expand scientific collaboration between India and the USA through travel grants which support education and research partnerships.
Visiting Teaching Professorships:
Gives microbiologists in India and the United States with a chance to visit institutions in the other country to teach an interactive short course on a subject in any of the microbiological disciplines.
Qualification:
• Researchers and faculty members scientifically recognized in the area of microbiology.
• Actively engaged in teaching at the postsecondary level.
Duration: 1-2 weeks.
Visiting Research Professorships:
Gives support to microbiologists in India and the United States to run a novel research project in partnership with a colleague in a research
facility in the other country.Qualification:
• Researchers actively engaged in microbiological sciences.
• Preference is given to early-career scientists who have got a PhD, or another equivalent academic degree, within the previous ten years.
Duration: Minimum 6 weeks.
It’s strongly Suggested the course include a hands-on element, like a wet laboratory Or other practical activity.
Funding:
Grant around USD 5000 is provided to cover travel expenses, visa and contingencies. Funds must be matched by the host institution. Matching funds provided by the host institution could be in-kind contributions like home And board for the visiting professor, supplies, facilities, administrative support, etc.
