Bioinformatics Summer Internship 2024 With Hands-On-Training + Project / Dissertation - 30 Days, 3 Months & 6 Months Duration

National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) will select candidates through following channels for admissions to following programmes for the year 2018.

Ph.D.

  • Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS).
  • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2017/GATE-2018) in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Electrical Engineering / Electronics and Communications Engineering / Computer Science and Information Technology / Instrumentation Engineering. Candidates who qualified in GATE-2017 in these subjects are also eligible to apply.
  • Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) (2018).
  • CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics (the candidates should also fulfil the eligibility criteria of NBRC for Ph.D. programme). Also their fellowship should be valid to be activated upto 31st August, 2018 or later.

Candidates will be short-listed for a two-tier interview based on their performance in the above qualifying examinations.

Ph.D. programme candidates will be short-listed for a two-tier interview to be held at NBRC based on their performance in the JGEEBILS (Test date: 10th December, 2017) or qualifying GATE -2017/GATE-2018 examinations / JEST-2018 examination or qualifying CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) (valid for activation upto 31st August 2018 or later), alongwith

fulfilling other eligibility criteria for admission to Ph.D. programme at NBRC. The applications through GATE/JEST/External Fellowship Channels are valid for Ph.D. programme only.

M.Sc. (Neuroscience)

  • Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS)

Candidates will be short-listed for a two-tier interview based on their performance in the JGEEBILS examination.

Eligibility:

Ph.D.

Master’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / Psychology from a recognized Institute / University or a minimum of four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.

Candidates appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
Candidates with at least 55% (50% for SC / ST / PH candidates) marks or equivalent grade or grade point average from secondary (10th) examination onwards will be considered. Candidates should calculate their percentage up to two decimal points to determine their eligibility.

M.Sc. (Neuroscience) *

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / Psychology / Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.

Candidates appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply

* Candidates selected for M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme will be eligible to switch to Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme of NBRC if they fulfill the required criteria.

Application Procedure for Candidates Appearing through JGEEBILS channel:

NBRC invites applications for admissions to the Ph.D. and M.Sc.(Neuroscience) programmes through JGEEBILS (Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences) https://www.ncbs.res.in/academic/admissions-JGEEBILS.

Candidates for both Ph.D. and M.Sc.(Neuroscience) programmes have to appear for JGEEBILS schedule to be conducted on Sunday, December 10, 2017.

You will require the reference code for JGEEBILS examination while applying to NBRC, which you might have received on applying to JGEEBILS examination at https://www.ncbs.res.in/academic/admissions-JGEEBILS.

The application can be submitted online or by post/courier.

Apply Offline (by post/courier):

NBRC prefers online applications. If you do not have internet access, you can apply offline.

Candidates who wish to apply by offline mode need to obtain application form from NBRC. In order to obtain the application form, send a self addressed A-4 size envelope to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar-122051 Dist. Gurgaon (Haryana) indicating –

  1. The programme to which they wish to apply.
  2. The channel through which they wish to apply if they are applying for Ph.D programme.

The last date of receipt of requests for hard copy of the application form at NBRC is 15th November, 2017.

Last date for filling (Online/Offline) application form at NBRC is 31st December, 2017.
You need to apply either online or offline (by post/courier).
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY TWICE FOR THE SAME PROGRAMME

Offline Applicants need to send the Demand Draft for the requisite amount, drawn in favour of Director, National Brain Research Centre and payable at Gurgaon or Manesar. (Please write your name, programme applied for and the reference code of JGEEBILS on the back of Demand Draft).

The Demand Draft along with the complete application form should be sent by post/courier to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar-122 051, Dist. Gurgaon (Haryana).

Candidates who are eligible as per the eligibility criteria of NBRC for both M.Sc.(Neuroscience) and Ph.D. programmes, if interested, may apply, by filling separate online application forms (by using different e-mail id) / offline application forms and by paying requisite fee separately for each programme.
