Applications are invited for the recruitment of various positions on contractual basis with consolidated pay under the DBT sponsored project entitled, “Integrating herbal medicine of NER with contemporary approaches to develop therapeutic strategies for metabolic syndrome” at Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) Garchuk, Guwahati (Assam). Details of the different Contractual positions :
Position 1
Name of the Post : Research Associate-I
Number of Post : 3
Pay : Rs. 36,000/- + 20% HRA per month
Educational Qualification and Experience: PhD in Molecular biology/ Biotechnology/ Bioengineering/ Biochemistry/Animal sciences (or) M.Pharm (or) M.Sc pursuing Ph.D. in the specified subjects. Candidate should have three years research experience with at least three research paper in SCI journals.
Desirable: Candidate having research experience on animal experimentation/ cell culture techniques/ molecular biology tools are essential.
Age : Age limit is 32 years. It is relaxable for SC/ ST/ Woman candidate as per Govt. rule.
Position 2
Name of Post : Senior Research Fellow
Number of Post : 4
Pay (Consolidated Emolument per month) : 28,000 + 20 % HRA per month (Candidates with NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualification) or Degree in professional courses M.Pharm/ M.Tech with two years of research experience. Rs. 14,000/- + 20 % HRA per month (Candidates without NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualification).
Educational Qualification and Experience : Candidates with M.Sc/M.Tech/M.Pharm degree (with minimum of 55% marks) or equivalent in Natural product chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Molecular biology/Zoology/Botany/Ayurveda are eligible to apply. Candidate having research experience on animal experimentation/ cell culture techniques/ molecular biology tools are essential.
Age: Age limit is 28 years. It is relaxable for SC/ ST/ Woman candidate as per Govt. rule.
Position 3
Name of Post : Technical assistant
Number of Post : 2
Pay (Consolidated Emolument per month) : Rs. 12,000 for 1st & 2nd year. Rs. 14,000 for 3rd year. No additional allowances such as HRA etc. will be provided.
Educational Qualification and Experience : B.Sc in Zoology/Botany/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Natural product chemistry.
Age: Age limit is 32 years. It is relaxable for SC/ ST/ Woman candidate as per Govt. rule.
Position 4
Name of the post : Scientist-E/Equivalent
Number of Post : 1
Pay (Consolidated Emolument Per Month):
- Rs. 1, 16,333 for 1st year
- Rs. 1, 23,250 for 2nd year
- Rs. 1, 30,416 for 3rd year
Educational Qualification and Experience: PhD in Organic Chemistry/Natural Product Chemistry/Drug design & Development/Medicinal Chemistry with minimum 10 years of research experience. Post-doctoral research experience of at least five years, working experience in herbal medicine, herbal formulation and development of therapeutic strategies for metabolic syndrome.
Desirable: The candidate should be able to provide strong leadership in synthetic and medicinal chemistry. He/she should possess knowledge on animal models and can be able to supervise/ guide a small research team. He/she should possesses record of high quality research (high impact publications).
Position 5
Name of the post: Scientist-D/Equivalent
Number of Post: 1
Pay (Consolidated Emolument per Month):
- Rs. 76,833 for 1st year
- Rs. 81,333 for 2nd year
- Rs. 86,000 for 3rd year
Educational Qualification and Experience : PhD in Pharmacology/ Pharmaceutical Sciences/Medicinal chemistry. Post-doctoral research with at least for five years of working experience in herbal/traditional medicine, herbal formulation and therapeutic development for metabolic syndrome.
Desirable: Sound knowledge and previous experience of working on animal models, evaluation of medicinal plants extracts and isolated compounds etc.
