About the Role

The Digital Pathology Assistant will play a key role in supporting the global delivery of digital pathology and imaging services. The position is responsible for assisting with operational activities, image quality review, data management, user support, system implementation, and compliance-related processes.

Working closely with laboratory personnel, pathologists, information technology teams, and operational stakeholders, the Digital Pathology Assistant will contribute to maintaining efficient, compliant, and high-quality digital pathology workflows while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is ideal for candidates with a background in life sciences or laboratory sciences who possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in digital healthcare technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Pathology Operations Support

  • Support the day-to-day global operations of Digital Pathology Services and Digital Imaging Services.
  • Assist in maintaining smooth workflow processes across digital pathology platforms and systems.
  • Coordinate operational activities to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.

Image Quality Assurance

  • Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews of scanned pathology images.
  • Verify image clarity, completeness, and accuracy against established quality standards.
  • Identify and report image quality issues requiring corrective action.
  • Ensure associated metadata and image records are accurate and complete.

Data Management & Documentation

  • Assist in the organization, management, and tracking of digital pathology data.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and system documentation.
  • Generate and update operational reports and data tracking documents.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

User Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide support to internal users regarding digital pathology tools, systems, and workflows.
  • Assist in troubleshooting operational and system-related issues.
  • Coordinate with technical support teams to resolve user concerns and system challenges.
  • Promote effective adoption of digital pathology technologies through user assistance and guidance.

System Implementation & Validation

  • Support implementation activities for new digital imaging platforms and image management systems.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and quality assessment of newly deployed systems and software tools.
  • Assist in documenting validation results and implementation outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and system performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with laboratory teams, pathologists, IT professionals, and technical support teams.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to resolve operational issues and improve workflows.
  • Support project activities related to digital transformation and process optimization.

Compliance & Quality Standards

  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality management systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance-related activities.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and operational excellence in all assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
    • Life Sciences
    • Biomedical Sciences
    • Laboratory Sciences
    • Biotechnology
    • Microbiology
    • Biochemistry
    • Related Scientific Disciplines
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal educational qualifications where applicable.

Experience Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in:
    • Laboratory operations
    • Digital pathology
    • Biomedical imaging
    • Healthcare data management
    • Clinical laboratory environments
    • Related scientific or technical roles

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to digital pathology platforms and workflows.
  • Experience working with image management systems.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems and quality management processes.
  • Experience supporting technology-enabled laboratory operations.
