Role Overview
The Lead Scientist will be responsible for supporting analytical characterization activities within the Biopharmaceutical Development function. The role involves method development, qualification, implementation, and technology transfer of characterization methods, as well as the analysis of biopharmaceutical samples using chromatography and mass spectrometry-based techniques.
The position requires strong analytical skills, scientific rigor, and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Method Development & Characterization
- Develop, qualify, implement, and transfer analytical characterization methods from Research & Development (R&D) to supporting functions.
- Perform characterization studies using chromatography and mass spectrometry-based analytical techniques.
- Analyze samples received from:
- Upstream Process Development
- Downstream Process Development
- Formulation Development
- Quality Control
- Manufacturing/Production Teams
- Support analytical investigations and method optimization activities.
Laboratory Operations
- Plan, organize, and execute day-to-day laboratory experiments.
- Generate high-quality analytical data in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned experiments and project deliverables.
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation as per organizational requirements.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Perform data generation, compilation, interpretation, and reporting.
- Analyze experimental results and provide scientific insights to support development activities.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and traceability of analytical data.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation in compliance with quality systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across development, manufacturing, quality, and research teams.
- Support technology transfer and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Contribute to project discussions and scientific problem-solving activities.
