Project Overview
The TATA TCS Biodiversity Park project aims to conserve Rare, Endangered, and Threatened (RET) species while promoting Neglected and Underutilized Species (NUS). Implemented across four districts in North Kerala, the project adopts a hub-and-spoke model integrating in-situ and ex-situ conservation, community participation, and capacity building.
Key project goals include:
- Restoration of 250 acres of biodiversity-rich landscapes
- Recovery of 100 RET species
- Livelihood enhancement for 1,000 tribal families through NUS-based value chains
Role Summary
The Research Fellow will support field-based research, documentation, nursery development, and monitoring activities under the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys, species documentation, and data collection
- Collect propagules and assist in biodiversity assessments
- Perform multiplication trials and support mass seedling production
- Assist in soil analysis and nursery experiments
- Support monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools and knowledge portal development
- Contribute to technical reports, case studies, and publications
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the Project Investigator/Coordinator
