Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Lab Head to lead our molecular biology and gut microbiome laboratory. The role involves managing lab operations, leading a research team, ensuring quality standards, and driving innovation in molecular diagnostics and microbiome research.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily laboratory operations and research activities
- Perform and supervise ELISA, PCR/qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and protein analysis workflows
- Ensure proper handling and processing of biological samples
- Develop and optimize SOPs, protocols, and lab workflows
- Maintain documentation, data records, and quality compliance standards
- Ensure adherence to GLP, NABL, ISO, and biosafety guidelines
- Lead troubleshooting, data interpretation, and scientific decision-making
- Handle lab inventory, procurement, and equipment maintenance
- Mentor and manage scientists and lab technicians
- Collaborate with Product, R&D, and Analytics teams
Qualifications
- Master’s/PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in molecular biology or microbiome research labs
- Strong expertise in ELISA, PCR/qPCR, DNA/RNA handling, and molecular assays
- Experience in lab management and team leadership
- Knowledge of laboratory quality standards and compliance
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in ISO/NABL/GLP-certified labs
- Exposure to gut microbiome research or sequencing workflows
- Experience in diagnostics, biotech, health-tech, or nutraceutical industry
- Passion for longevity science and innovation
