Key Responsibilities
- Understand current and emergent problems, needs, and requirements analysis of the customers
- Engage the scientific community (Genetics, Discovery Biology, Translational Genomics)
- Deliver timely, scalable Omics solutions (genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, epigenomics, microbiome, metabolomics, proteomics)
- Apply and integrate bioinformatics pipelines, statistical modeling, machine learning/AI methods, and relational data systems
- Research, assess, recommend, and integrate various data types to drive programs and clinical decisions
- Contribute hands-on to scientific initiatives and mentor junior team members
Qualifications
- PhD or Postdoc with 0–3 years of experience in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics
- Strong background in analyzing multi-modal Omics data (RNAseq, Proteomics, ATACseq, Microarray, Spatial transcriptomics)
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and generate scientific insights
Experience
- Exposure to therapeutic areas like Oncology, Immunology, or Neuroscience (preferred)
- Experience working with drug discovery and translational research data
- Familiarity with large datasets and scientific literature integration. Additionally, experience in computational biology jobs can be advantageous for candidates.
Skills Needed
- Programming: R (Shiny), Python
- Cloud computing: AWS (S3, EC2, SageMaker)
- Workflow tools: Nextflow, Snakemake, WDL, CWL, AWS HealthOmics
- Strong statistical modeling, regression, and hypothesis testing
- Knowledge of databases: GEO, TCGA, GTEx, MsigDB, GWAS Catalog, CCLE, OpenTargets
- Familiarity with biobanks (UK Biobank, FinnGen), GWAS, PheWAS
- Experience with HPC clusters, Docker, and scalable environments
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability
