Key Responsibilities
● Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental monitoring samples.
● Manage and supervise routine microbiology lab operations, including water analysis, sterility testing, and endotoxin testing.
● Oversee environmental monitoring programs (air, surface, personnel monitoring) in cleanrooms and controlled areas.
● Validate and maintain microbial testing methods as per pharmacopeial standards (IP, USP, BP, EP).
● Support aseptic practices, gowning validation, and cleanroom qualification activities.
● Prepare, review, and maintain microbiology-related SOPs, protocols, and records.
● Handle microbial investigations, deviations, and support CAPA implementation.
● Ensure compliance with cGMP, WHO, and global regulatory guidelines (MHRA, USFDA, EU-GMP, etc.).
● Train junior microbiologists and team members on microbiological techniques and compliance standards.
Candidate Requirements
● Qualification: M.Sc. in Microbiology / Biotechnology (or related life sciences).
● Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical microbiology.
● In-depth knowledge of aseptic techniques, microbiological methods, and GMP requirements.
● Hands-on experience in handling microbiological instruments such as Laminar Air Flow, Incubators, Autoclaves, Colony Counters, and Endotoxin Testing equipment.
● Strong documentation and analytical skills with a compliance-focused mindset.
