Job Role: Specialist – EM OP/IP

Role Prerequisites:
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in medical coding for Emergency Medicine (EM) – Outpatient (OP) and Inpatient (IP) charts.
- Mandatory certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and interpret medical records for EM OP and IP encounters.
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures in accordance with industry standards and payer-specific guidelines.
- Accurately sequence codes based on the medical record to ensure correct claim processing.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of medical necessity, APC (Ambulatory Payment Classification), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) for chart processing.
- Collaborate with audit and quality teams to maintain compliance and achieve high coding accuracy.
- Stay updated with the latest coding changes, CMS guidelines, and client-specific instructions.

- Good communication skills for interdepartmental coordination.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
