ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE AWARD OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS (JRF)

Defence Institute of Bio-Defence Technologies (DIBT), under the aegis of Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Govt of India, is responsible for developing detection technologies for foodborne pathogens and toxins of biodefence importance, as well as R&D on Military Nutrition. DIBT invites applications from young, talented, and motivated Indian nationals with the requisite qualifications who desire to pursue Defence-related research as Junior Research Fellows.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) will be paid Rs. 37,000/- per month with HRA as stipend. The award of JRF will be as per DRDO & other National Agency’s Research Fellowship rules
    . The offer of fellowship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO. Admission shall not be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right.
  2. The tenure of the fellowship will be initially for two years and based on performance, it may be extended for the 3rd and 4th year if required.
  3. Only candidates possessing the above-mentioned qualifications from a recognized University/Institute may apply.
  4. Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years for JRF as on the date of interview. Age relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
  5. Candidates must present original certificates and testimonials at the time of the interview. Additionally, candidates should bring:
    • A photocopy set of all documents along with the application form.
    • A valid Government-issued ID card (Aadhaar, Passport, or Driving License).
  6. Candidates presently employed in Government Departments/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies should send their applications through the proper channel and are required to produce a NOC from their employer at the time of the interview.
  7. Selection Process:
    • A written test consisting of Objective-type Multiple Choice Questions may be conducted to shortlist candidates for the interview, if necessary.
    • Based on interview performance, a panel of selected candidates will be prepared for current and anticipated vacancies. The panel will remain valid for one year from the date of the interview.
    • The decision of the Centre Head, DIBT, Mysuru, will be final in case of any discrepancies.
  8. No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview or for joining if selected.
  9. Candidates must provide suitable documents for proof of Caste, Age, Educational Qualification, NET/GATE, and NOC (where applicable) along with a passport-size photograph. Failing this, the application will be rejected.
  10. Application Process:
    • Candidates must type and submit the application form appended in this advertisement, along with copies of testimonials/documents, to:
      Centre Head, Defence Institute of Bio-Defence Technologies (DIBT), Siddhartha Nagar, Mysuru-570011 through Speed Post only.
    • Applications sent via courier will not be accepted.
    • The envelope containing the applications must be super-scribed as “Recruitment of Junior Research Fellows.”
  11. Candidates must mention the Position and Subject they are applying for.
  12. Verification Process: The antecedents of selected candidates will be verified at the time of joining.
  13. Admission shall not be claimed as a right. The admission shall be at the discretion of the Selection Committee, which reserves the right to refuse any candidate without assigning reasons.
  14. Number of seats for JRF may increase or decrease without prior notice.
  15. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test/interview at Defence Institute of Bio-Defence Technologies, Mysuru. Candidates will be informed via e-mail/speed post.
  16. Candidates may bring a Project Report/Technical Work demo in support of their candidature.
  17. Last Date to Apply: 30 days from the date of advertisement.
  18. Canvassing/influence is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
