The Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem, www.instem.res.in), an Autonomous Institute under Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, invites online applications from eligible and interested candidates for the following position on a short-term contract basis.
Position and Age Limit
Position: Communications Office Intern (Temporary)
Age Limit: 35 Years
Number of Posts: One (1)
Monthly Consolidated Remuneration: ₹15,000/- p/m
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences OR demonstrable interest in biomedical research.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Outstanding interpersonal/general communication skills.
- High level of professionalism, organizational skills, and efficiency.
- Experience with and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and/or other graphic design tools.
- Ability to distill complex biological ideas for the lay public/non-scientists.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in website content management.
- Portfolio evidencing the aesthetic sense and creative abilities of the applicant.
- A degree/diploma/certificate in design, mass communications, or photojournalism.
- Experience in science illustrations, video making, or photography.
Job Description
- Assist the Communications Coordinator/assigned reporting officer with various writing, design, and special projects.
- Support day-to-day office functions.
- Create graphic/digital designs, including providing design and concept development assistance.
- Develop audio-visual creative materials for various deliverables.
- Create content for science exhibitions and programs that facilitate interactions with the lay public.
- Manage social media accounts, school/college visits, and assist with preparation for meetings and events.
- Perform any additional work as assigned by the reporting line.
Tenure
The initial engagement will be for a period of eleven (11) months, which may be extended further for an appropriate period(s) depending on the performance of the candidate and the requirement of the institute.

Selection Process
The selection process shall involve a Written Test/Interview or both.
General Conditions
- Incomplete applications shall be summarily rejected, and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
- Candidates must ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria as stipulated in the advertisement.
- All eligibility conditions will be determined with reference to the crucial date of eligibility, i.e., the closing date of receipt of applications.
- Candidates are advised to keep a printout of the application form.
- This is purely a temporary engagement, and selection does not entitle a candidate to any claim whatsoever of permanency or regularization against any regular post or any vacancy arising in the future in this or any other cadre/post on the basis of this service in the institute.
- The incumbent may be assigned any duty during his/her tenure in the institute and may be posted in different sections according to institute requirements.
- No claim for any service benefits like PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Seniority & Promotion, etc., is applicable to this post.
- The appointment will be on a full-time basis, and he/she will not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the contract period. The contract may be terminated by either party by giving one-month advance notice in writing.
- The incumbent will be required to conform to the rules and regulations of inStem in force from time to time and follow the discipline rules of the institute, failing which the contract may be withdrawn at any time.
- Mere fulfillment of the minimum prescribed qualification and experience will not vest any right on a candidate for being called for the selection process. Only the candidates shortlisted by a duly constituted Screening Committee will be called for the selection process. The decision of the institute in this regard will be final. No interim inquiries in this regard will be entertained.
- The incumbent will be entitled to leave as admissible to the contractual staff of the institute. Un-availed leave cannot be carried forward or encashed.
- No accommodation will be provided during the tenure of the incumbent.
