The R&D Team Leader, Fast Trak Process Design and Validation Services, will be responsible for managing a team of scientists to plan and execute the technical portions of R&D development or improvement projects aligned with the R&D strategic plan. This may involve services or products within process development, validation, or training services. The role spans early-phase work (spec definition), concept and design, testing, and validation. It also includes overseeing facility setup and documentation to support service launches.
What You Will Do:
- Lead a team of microbiological and bioprocess scientists.
- Foster an innovation culture, exploring and assessing various approaches to address technical challenges in R&D projects.
- Support the conversion of market requirements into robust technical and performance requirements and service designs.
- Assist the team in planning and executing feasibility, validation, and verification studies to launch new services meeting market and technical demands.
- Ensure compliance with quality procedures for product development, laboratory work, and Environment, Health & Safety regulations.
Who You Are:
- Master’s degree or higher in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioprocessing, or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience leading and delivering technical projects with innovation, prototyping, or feasibility elements.
- Highly motivated, with a creative and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting. Able to work independently to achieve results.
- Leadership experience through line management or project-related activities.
- Strong reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt communication to different audiences.
It Would Be a Plus If You Also Possess:
- Experience with aseptic laboratory methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of upstream or downstream biotechnology unit operations.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and scientific methods.
