We are looking for an Associate STEM Content Analyst to join our GENESEQ process in Chennai. This is an amazing opportunity to work on GENESEQ in the IPG team. We’d love to speak with you if you have expertise in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry.
About You
- Must hold a master’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry.
- Can be a fresher or a candidate with around 1 year of experience in patents, patent indexing, or with basic patent knowledge.
- If experienced, should have at least one year’s experience in patent indexing, disease indexing, and abstract writing.
It would be great if you also had . . .
- 1 to 2 years of experience in patent indexing, gene sequencing, genetics, and disease indexing.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and working with PDF or TIFF images.
- Good exposure to publicly available databases like the NCBI taxonomy database and PubMed, and secondary research skills.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Applying biotechnology, genetics, and molecular biology concepts to curate biological sequence-related information from patent documents in line with editorial policies and conventions.
- Manually curating all biological sequences given in the specifications, including those found within PDF or TIFF images, not just those in the formal electronic sequence listing.
- Creating additional sequences described in the specification, which may not be in the sequence listing but are claimed, including mutated sequences and claimed SEQ ID fragments not fully claimed.
- Meeting weekly production volume and quality targets while maintaining consistency.
- Promoting personal safety and that of others by taking reasonable care at work, complying with laws, and following recognized codes of practice provided by management to ensure safe working practices.
About the Team
- The GENESEQ Team is a key knowledge-driven group within the Intellectual Property Group at Clarivate.
- The team consists of 37 colleagues in various roles with expertise across Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry, reporting to a Team Manager.
- GENESEQ products include Nucleic Acid sequences of at least 10 bases (or 8 if claimed) and Amino Acid sequences with a minimum of 4 residues.
Hours of Work
- 9 AM to 6 PM IST (includes a 1-hour break), subject to slight changes based on business needs.
