Engagement to the position of Project Associate – II (PAT-II)
CSIR – Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysuru, a constituent National Laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Associate – II (PAT-II) on a purely temporary contractual basis for the project detailed below:
For the project HCP0101 entitled “CSIR JIGYASA 2.0 Programme with concept of Virtual Laboratory Integrated,” the engagement is initially up to March 31, 2025, funded by CSIR and tenable at the Department of Biochemistry, CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, Karnataka. The details are as follows:
Desirable Qualification/Experience: Experience in handling high school students for scientific events and fluency in Kannada.
Note: As per CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024, the engagement of Project Staff shall be co-terminus with the term of the Project. The total period of engagement in different projects, either in the same or different CSIR Labs/Institutions, shall not exceed 6 years. Applicants who have completed a total tenure of 6 years in any CSIR Lab/Institution as Project Staff are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for this position.
Terms and Conditions:
- Eligibility:
- Only candidates who have already acquired the essential qualification with declared results are eligible to apply. Result awaited/final semester appearing candidates are not eligible.
- Experience Calculation:
- Experience in a specific discipline/area will be counted after obtaining the minimum prescribed educational qualifications for the post.
- Shortlisting Process:
- Applicants will be shortlisted by a designated committee, and selected candidates for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-CFTRI website. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- In case of a large number of applications, the committee may shortlist candidates based on:
- Percentage of marks in the essential qualification.
- Higher educational qualifications than the minimum prescribed.
- Desirable qualifications/experience.
- Any other method deemed appropriate by the committee.
- Selection and Result Announcement:
- Based on interview performance, selected candidates will be listed on the CFTRI website. The selection process and waitlist panel will follow CSIR rules as per OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST/PwBD/Women: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Engagement Details:
- Engagement is temporary, co-terminus with the project tenure, and does not confer any claim for regularization or permanent position.
- For candidates currently working at CSIR/CSIR-CFTRI, a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) from the current Principal Investigator (PI) is required. Engagement is subject to a ‘No Dues Certificate’ and resignation from the previous project if selected.
- Tenure:
- Engagement is for a short duration based on fund availability, extendable based on performance and project requirements, but not beyond the project’s tenure.
- Rights and Limitations:
- Engagement as project personnel does not grant any rights for higher degree registration or permanent employment in CSIR-CFTRI or CSIR institutes.
- Project staff engagements across various projects are limited to a maximum of 6 years. Candidates with 6 or more years in CSIR projects are not eligible.
- Post Availability:
- Posts are provisional, subject to fund availability, and may be modified at the time of actual selection.
- Performance Review and Termination:
- Project staff performance will be reviewed periodically, with non-performance leading to termination without prior notice.
- Additional Rights:
- CSIR-CFTRI reserves the right to cancel or amend the offer if discrepancies in candidature are found at any stage.
- Eligibility Verification:
- Candidates are responsible for ensuring they meet essential qualifications. Misleading information or failure to meet criteria may lead to disqualification at any selection stage.
- General Guidelines:
- The Director, CSIR-CFTRI, reserves the right to amend, delete, or add terms and conditions and may cancel the advertisement without reason. Vacancy numbers are subject to change.
- Disqualification:
- Any form of canvassing or influence will disqualify the candidate.

- Candidates must select the appropriate subject panel based on their essential qualification specialization.
