The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) is an autonomous institution of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, with a mandate for basic research, teaching & training, and serving as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas, etc. The centre is located in the academically enriched environment of the University of Savitribai Phule Pune Campus, Pune. NCCS invites applications for the following post on an extramural project purely on a temporary basis:

Name of the Post: Short-Term Trainee Internship (as per SERB Scientific Social Responsibility Policy)
Number of posts: 01 (One)
Name of the Project: Identifying interactors of E-cadherin in embryonic stem cells.
Name of the PI: Dr. Deepa Subramanyam
Essential Qualification & Experience:
Students in undergraduate engineering or postgraduate science.
(Students pursuing graduation in engineering or students pursuing post-graduation in science).
Please note that students who have completed their graduation in engineering or completed their post-graduation in science are not eligible as per the funding agency’s guidelines.
Desirable Experience: Exposure to cell biology, molecular biology, and microscopy in coursework will be preferred.
Post Tenure: 2 months
Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 5000/- per month

- Educational Qualifications:
- For students undergoing graduation in engineering:
- Marksheet of Pursuing Graduation/Bonafide Certificate from the institution indicating that the student is pursuing a graduation.
- For students undergoing post-graduation in science:
- Marksheet of Pursuing Post-Graduation/Bonafide Certificate from the institution indicating that the student is pursuing post-graduation.
- For students undergoing graduation in engineering:
- A passport-size photo
- SC/ST/OBC candidates must produce proof of their caste certificate from the appropriate authority to avail age relaxation.
- OBC candidates must also produce the latest/valid non-creamy layer certificate in the prescribed form for claiming reservation benefits.
The applications will be summarily rejected in the absence of these certificates or any requested information, wherever applicable. There will not be any further communication in this regard from us.
Candidates should be able to arrange their own accommodation in Pune during the training period to ensure timely presence at the lab during regular working hours. No accommodation will be provided by NCCS.
The above-advertised position is purely on a temporary basis for the limited period of the extramural funded project of SERB. The position will automatically be co-terminous with the completion of its tenure. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment in the funding agency or in NCCS, Pune.
