The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed as Ministry of Education in August 2020). In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament.
The Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following post purely on temporary and contractual basis:

Title of the Project: “Characterization of a novel α/β Hydrolase protein in Plasmodium falciparum and understanding its role in Artemisinin Resistance”

Funding Agency: Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)
Minimum educational Qualification:
B.Sc. / B. Tech degree in Life Sciences with minimum 60% marks/equivalent grade from a recognized University / Institute with a valid scorecard of CSIR-NET / GATE / DBT – JRF / any other National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions OR equivalent.
Additional percentage cut-off will be applied during the screening process, if needed.
Preference: Candidates having experience with Plasmodium culturing, molecular biology, cloning and biochemical assays will be preferred.
Tenure of the appointment: Initially for a period of one year extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- + 24% House Rent Allowance
Age as on last date of application: Not more than 28 years. Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification/s and / or experience/s of the applicant may be considered for candidates having qualification and experience higher than the advertised with the prior approval of the competent authority.
