Advertisement for the post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for the project “Development and Evaluation of Novel Multi-Target Urolithin Analogues as Potential Neuroprotective Therapeutics for Ischemic Stroke,” funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The initial period of employment may be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to three years contingent upon satisfactory performance.
Essential qualifications, experience, and other requirements for the position are detailed below.
Qualification
Essential:
- First class post-graduate (PG) degree (including integrated PG degree) such as M.S. (Pharm)/ M.Pharm/ M.Sc/ M.Tech or Equivalent (with specialization in Pharmacology & Toxicology/Regulatory Toxicology/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences. [OR]
- Second class post-graduate degree in aforementioned disciplines with Ph.D. These qualifications must be obtained from a recognized Board/University/Institute.
Desirable: Candidates with a Ph.D. degree and/or significant experience in animal handling, Pharmacological drug screening using in vitro and in vivo models, neuroscience, histopathological techniques, and molecular biology methodologies are preferred. Proficiency in any or all of the following areas is advantageous: small animal surgeries like MCAO, neuronal
cell culture, invitro Oxygen-Glucose Deprivation (OGD) model, Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS), immunofluorescence techniques (including double/triple immunolabeling), confocal microscopy, Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (CHIP), and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) techniques.Project duration: 36 months
Age Limit: 35 years as of May 15, 2024.
Salary: INR 56,000 per month + House Rental Allowances (HRA) as per ICMR norms.
