The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (www.instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. DBT-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with translational emphasis. In order to develop strengths in focused areas, research at DBT-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory. DBT-inStem shares a campus and research facilities with the Bangalore Life Sciences Cluster (BLiSC).

Post I

Post Name & Monthly Emoluments: Project Scientist – I, ₹.56,000/m + HRA
No. of Post & Age limit: 01 (one), Age Limit – 35 years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Science
Desirable Qualifications:
- PhD in Structural Biology/Biochemistry/Virology.
- Prior experience in X-Ray Crystallography; Cryo-EM; Biochemical and biophysical assays; Recombinant protein production using insect, yeast and bacterial systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication required with exceptional organizational skills.
Job Description:
- Responsible for carrying out as well as supervising laboratory work such as viral protein production and purification.
- Study protein-ligand interactions using suitable biochemical and biophysical assays.
- Structure determination of protein-ligand complexes.
- Design, validate, document, and troubleshoot laboratory experiments.
- Must be detail-oriented, well-organized with the ability to analyze and communicate data effectively.
- Maintaining strict adherence to timeliness/punctuality scheduled in advance.
- Expedite completion of projects and ensure that appropriate turnaround goals are met.
- Excellent team player to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Post Name & Monthly Emoluments: Project Associate-II
- Net Qualified: ₹.35,000/m + HRA
- Non Net Qualified: ₹.28,000/m + HRA
No. of Post & Age limit: 01 (one), Age Limit – 35 years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential Qualification: Master’s in Science or Bachelor’s in technology and 2 years’ experience
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior experience in cell biology techniques including cell culture, transfection, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and cell-based assays.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Job Description:
- Perform research requiring cell biology techniques including cell culture, transfection, microscopy, and cell-based assays like protease assays/cytokine assays.
- Regular data analyses, project updates literature surveys, and presentations on the virology target.
- Participate in project team meetings and contribute to the projects intellectually.
- Prepare and maintain professional lab records.
Tenure: Contractual appointment for one year, renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.
