Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow for the project entitled “Characterization of the effect of pathogenic CLTC variants in early development” at the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH AND NEURO SCIENCES (NIMHANS), Bengaluru.

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree in Lifesciences, biomedical sciences, preferably molecular biology and human genetics, applied genetics, medical genetics, biochemistry or bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology or Medicine from a recognized university or equivalent in related areas from a recognized University or Institution.

A. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
B. B. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR.

Nature of the work: Handling of biological samples, cataloging, isolation of nucleic acids, IIT, IISc, IISER etc., QC, NGS library preparation and

sequencing, bioinformatics analysis, variant interpretation & reporting.

Desirable Experience: Experience in genomics, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) (wet lab and/or bioinformatics) focused on Human Genetics and clinical applications.

Maximum Age Limit: 35 Years

Salary: 31,000/- + 24%HRA

Duration of project: 2 Years

NOC should be submitted at the time of the interview from the Principal Investigator if working on projects (Extramural/Intramural) in NIMHANS.
