Post Doctoral Fellow Job for Ph.D. Candidates at IASST. Here are five Possible interview questions along with their answers :

1. Question: Can you please explain your research experience in drug development and delivery, microbial diversity, or related fields, as mentioned in the job advertisement?

Answer: During my Ph.D., I conducted extensive research in the field of drug development and delivery. Specifically, I focused on developing novel drug delivery systems to enhance the efficacy and safety of pharmaceutical compounds. I have hands-on experience in formulating and testing drug delivery vehicles, which resulted in two first-author publications in peer-reviewed international journals. Additionally, I have contributed to a co-authored publication in the area of microbial diversity, where we explored the diversity of microorganisms in unique ecosystems.

2. Question: Could you provide examples of common analytical or laboratory instruments related to your research field that you are proficient in operating?

Answer: I am proficient in operating a range of analytical and laboratory instruments relevant to my research field. These include but are not limited to high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), mass spectrometry, fluorescence spectroscopy, and various microscopy techniques. I have utilized these instruments in my research to analyze drug formulations, characterize microbial communities, and assess the chemical composition of natural products.

3. Question: How do you plan to contribute to the research activities in the Life Sciences Division of IASST if selected for the Post-Doctoral Fellow position?

Answer: If selected for the Post-Doctoral Fellow position, I intend to make significant contributions to the ongoing research activities in the Life Sciences Division of IASST. My background in drug development and microbial diversity aligns well with the institute’s areas of interest. I plan to collaborate with the research team to advance drug discovery projects, explore microbial diversity in local ecosystems, and potentially investigate the use of probiotics or medicinal plants. I am eager to share my expertise, work collaboratively, and contribute to the institute’s research goals.

4. Question: Can you discuss any specific projects or experiments from your Ph.D. research that highlight your ability to conduct innovative and impactful research?

Answer: Certainly. One of the noteworthy projects from my Ph.D. involved the development of a targeted drug delivery system for a widely used anti-cancer drug. By encapsulating the drug within biocompatible nanoparticles, I achieved controlled drug release and improved therapeutic efficacy. This research not only resulted in a publication but also demonstrated my ability to innovate in drug delivery, a critical aspect of pharmaceutical research. Additionally, my work on characterizing the microbial diversity in a local ecosystem shed light on previously unknown microbial species and their potential applications in biotechnology.

5. Question: In the event that your initial 12-month appointment is extended, how do you plan to ensure your research remains productive and aligned with the institute’s goals?

Answer: If my initial 12-month appointment is extended, my priority will be to maintain and enhance the productivity of my research. I will continue to collaborate closely with my colleagues at IASST, participating in ongoing projects and seeking opportunities for interdisciplinary research. I will also actively pursue external funding opportunities to support my research initiatives. Additionally, I will regularly review and adapt my research plan to align with the institute’s evolving research goals, ensuring that my work contributes effectively to the broader objectives of the Life Sciences Division.
