Check out the interview questions with answers below for the role of Project Associate II At CSIR-IMTECH:

1. Can you tell us about your educational background and how it aligns with the requirements of this Project Associate-II position? Answer: I hold a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences from a recognized university. My educational background aligns well with the essential qualification for this Project Associate-II position. I have gained in-depth knowledge and understanding of various scientific principles and research methodologies during my academic journey. Additionally, my strong foundation in natural sciences has provided me with the necessary skills to excel in research and development activities. I am confident that my educational background prepares me well for the challenges and responsibilities of this role.

2. Please share your previous experience in research and development in academic institutions or science and technology organizations. Answer: I have had the opportunity to work as a Research and Development Associate in an academic institution for the past two years. During this time, I actively participated in various research projects and scientific activities. I collaborated with a team of researchers to conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to scientific publications. My role involved working with cell culture, performing recombinant protein expression and characterization, conducting molecular biology experiments, and analyzing gene expression. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable hands-on experience in research and development, which I believe will be directly applicable to this Project Associate-II position.

3. How familiar are you with cell culture techniques, recombinant protein expression, and characterization? Can you provide specific examples of your experience in these areas? Answer: I have a strong familiarity with cell culture techniques, recombinant protein expression, and characterization. During my previous research work, I routinely worked with various cell lines, maintaining their cultures, and conducting experiments. I have hands-on experience in transfecting cells, optimizing culture conditions, and performing assays to assess cell viability and protein expression. Additionally, I have successfully expressed and purified recombinant proteins using different expression systems and techniques. I am also proficient in characterizing these proteins using various biochemical and biophysical methods, such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and protein-protein interaction assays. Overall, my experience in these areas has equipped me with the necessary skills to contribute effectively to this project.

4. How would you approach gene expression analysis in the context of this project? Can you describe any specific methodologies or techniques you have utilized for gene expression analysis? Answer: For gene expression analysis in this project, I would employ various molecular biology techniques and methodologies. One approach I have used extensively is quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), which allows for the precise quantification of gene expression levels. I have experience in designing gene-specific primers, optimizing PCR conditions, and analyzing qRT-PCR data. Additionally, I have utilized techniques like RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, and gel electrophoresis to validate gene expression patterns. In some cases, I have also employed more advanced techniques such as RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) to gain a comprehensive understanding of gene expression profiles. By combining these methodologies and staying updated with the latest advancements in gene expression analysis, I am confident in my ability to contribute effectively to this project.

5. Can you provide an example of a time when you were assigned a task by a project leader that was not mentioned in your job description? How did you handle the situation? Answer: In a previous research project, I was assigned a task by the project leader that was not initially mentioned in my job description. The task involved developing a new protocol for a specific experiment that required expertise in a technique I had not previously used. To handle the situation, I took the initiative to thoroughly research the technique, including reviewing relevant literature and consulting with experts in the field. I also sought guidance from my colleagues and actively collaborated with them to understand the intricacies of the technique. Through determination and resourcefulness, I successfully developed the required protocol and executed the experiment. This experience taught me the importance of adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills, even when faced with unfamiliar tasks.
