Selection Process:

Terms and conditions:

  1. The above position is purely contractual and is for the duration of the project only. Selected candidates will not be entitled to claim any regular appointments/absorption in this institute.
  2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  3. Candidates will not be entertained after said online interview slot, except in case of any exigency the decision of the selection committee will be final and binding on the candidates.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology/ Botany/ Biotechnology/any branch of Life Sciences or an allied area with at least 60% marks from any recognized university with a valid CSIR/UGC- NET, NET-LS/GATE certificate.

Stipend: Rs. 38,440 per month(Rs. 31000 basic + 24% HRA) for 1st and 2 nd year and 43,400 per month (Rs. 35000 basic + 24% HRA) for 3rd year

To identify stress-associated miPEPs in tomato, I would use a combination of transcriptomic and proteomic approaches to identify differentially expressed miPEPs and validate their expression patterns under stress conditions.
  3. How would you manage the time and resources required to complete the project within the specified duration?
    Answer: I would develop a detailed work plan outlining the project’s objectives and milestones, breaking down the work into smaller tasks with specific timelines. I would prioritize tasks based on their importance and urgency, ensuring that I remain within the budget allocated for the project.
  4. Can you describe a research project that you have previously worked on, including your role and contributions to the project’s success?
    Answer: I have previously worked on a project that involved characterizing the molecular mechanisms underlying plant-pathogen interactions. My role in the project was to design and conduct experiments to investigate the role of specific plant genes in pathogen resistance. My contributions to the project’s success included identifying key genes involved in the resistance pathway and characterizing their expression patterns.
  5. How would you communicate your research findings to a non-technical audience, and why is it important to do so?
    Answer: I would communicate my research findings to a non-technical audience by using plain language and avoiding technical jargon. This is important to ensure that my research is accessible to a wider audience, including policymakers and the general public, who may not have a scientific background but may benefit from the research’s applications. Additionally, communicating research findings in plain language can help bridge the gap between the scientific community and society, increasing public awareness and support for scientific research.
