Why M.Sc. IN BIG DATA BIOLOGY?
Rapid advances in technology and in diverse areas of biology such as high-throughput genomics, computational neuroscience, biopharma and medical and cellular imaging have led to the generation of massive amounts of data. This poses a huge challenge to researchers to handle such large volumes of data and analyse and interpret them. This has created an acute need for students who are well trained in the areas of advanced computing, data science and who have domain knowledge in relevant areas of biology.
SALIENT FEATURES:
The M.Sc. in Big Data Biology aims to build advanced skills in students with a range of backgrounds (including biology), starting from the basics. It will be highly interdisciplinary covering various domains of Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Genomics and NGS, Ppyhton and R, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Image Analysis and Clinical Trial Data Analysis. It will also include a six month

TRACK RECORD:
The M.Sc. in Big Data Biology builds on a 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Big Data Biology (PGD-BDB) offered by IBAB for 4 years (Jan 2019-Jan 2023). This programme was funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. The programme was a phenomenal success, and was rated as one of the best programmes in the country.
