WALK-IN INTERVIEW FOR ONE POST OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF)

Applications are invited by the undersigned from the eligible candidates for ONE JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF) in the following research project sponsored Department of Science & Technology (DST) (Govt of India), Japanese Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Central Silk Board, Government of India, in this Institute.

Title of the project: Characterization of mulberry silkworm, Bombyx mori L. mutants for tolerance to flacherie syndrome through genome editing tools.

Duration of the project

: October 2021 – September 2023; Two years till 07-10-2023.

Important points:

  1. Date of walk-in-interview: 12th April 2023
  2. Time: 10.00 AM onwards (candidates should reach the venue by 9.30 AM for verification of documents).
  3. Entry of candidates will be permitted only till 12 Noon.
  4. Venue: Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, Berhampur – 742 101, District – Murshidabad, West Bengal, India (Landmark: Backside of Berhampur court railway station).
  5. Upper Age Limit: 35 years for JRF as of the day of notification. Relaxation of five years for SC/ST, women, physically handicapped and OBC candidates as per rules.
  6. No TA/DA will be provided to attend the interview.
  7. The above-mentioned position is purely temporary on a contractual basis and co-terminus with the project. Further claims for any post will not be entertained thereafter.

Eligible candidates may appear for a walk-in- interview at the specified time and venue given above with biodata, a passport-size photograph, originals and one copy each of educational qualifications showing SSLC, PUC, BSc and MSc, date of birth, NOC from present employer (if employed), research experience certificate, research papers published in journals (if any) and caste certificate for SC/ST candidates, along with valid e-mail Id and telephone/mobile numbers.

Essential Qualifications: MSc in Zoology/ Entomology/ Life Sciences/ Sericulture/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry or Molecular Biology from a UGC-recognized university with a minimum of 60 percent marks (55 percent for SC/ST candidates)

Desirable Qualifications: Working knowledge in molecular biology, bioinformatics, the culture of microorganisms and biochemical analysis.

Emoluments: Rs. 21,000 /- + admissible HRA as per Central Silk Board (CSB) rules.
