WALK IN INTERVIEW

Applications are invited to attend a walk-in-interview at the Division of Genetics, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi – 110012. The posts are purely on a contractual basis. Eligible candidates are requested to attend the interview on December 15, 2022 December 21, 2022, at 10:00 AM with their application in the enclosed Performa, original documents along with self-attested copies. Original documents will be verified at the time of the Interview. If any candidate is found to have submitted false claims at a later stage, their candidature will be summarily rejected.

Post I

Name of the Post – JRF/Project Associate I

No. of Posts – 01

Name of the Project: Mapping and transfer of novel resistance gene for multiple biotic stresses in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) – Funded by DBT

Emoluments (Fixed per month):

  • Rs. 31,000 + 24% HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
    OR
  • 25,000/- + 24% HRA for others who do not fall under above.

Essential qualification

Essential: Master’s degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology with 4/5 years’ bachelor’s degree. Those with 3 years of bachelor’s degree must have NET (National Eligibility Tests) – UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
OR
Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable: Experience in molecular markers, field phenotyping and handling of field crops.

Post II

Name of the Post – Research Associate I

Emoluments (Fixed per month): Rs. 47,000 + 24% HRA

Essential qualification

Essential: Ph.D. in Genetics/Plant Breeding/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/Biotechnology or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research experience with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Desirable: Experience in high throughput marker analysis, handling of bioinformatic tools and exposure to phenotyping of field crops.

Post III

Name of the Post – JRF/SRF

Name of the Project: CRP on Molecular Breeding “Molecular breeding for improvement of tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses, yield and quality traits in crops (Wheat)-Funded by ICAR

Emoluments (Fixed per month): Rs. 31000 + 24% HRA and Rs 35000+ 24% HRA from
3rd year

Essential qualification

Essential: Master’s degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology with 4/5 years’ bachelor’s degree. Candidates having a Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years of Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience

Desirable: Experience in molecular markers, field phenotyping and handling of field crops.

Post IV

Name of the Post – JRF

Name of the Project: Fine mapping of recessive leaf and stem rust resistance gene in wheat-rye recombinant stock “selection 212”– Funded by CSIR

Emoluments (Fixed per month): Rs. 31000 + 24% HRA and Rs 35000+ 24% HRA from
3rd year

Essential qualification

Essential: Postgraduate degree in (Biotechnology/ Genetic/ Plant Breeding/Botany or related field of plant sciences) and have been selected through a process described in CSIR Office Memorandum (O.M.) No. 38(1507)/21/EMR-II Dated 22/06/2021 i.e. scholars who are selected through the UGC-National Eligibility Test, CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE or the selection process through national level exams conducted be central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICSR, IISER etc.

Desirable: Experience in molecular markers, field phenotyping and handling of field crops.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Age limit: Maximum age 35 years for SRF/JRF, age 40 years for RA and Skilled Worker/Helper for 35 years (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC).
  2. The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis initially for up to 31.03.2023 or till completion of the project whichever is earlier and may be extended periodically subject to performance till the termination of the project.
  3. The selected candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.
  4. The candidates will have to compulsorily fill in the application form (as per the format annexed), all the scan certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, degree certificate either original or provisional and a recent photograph enclosed onto the scan application form. Proof of experience and publications. The selected candidate will be required to produce all the original documents and medical certificates at the time of joining.
  5. No TA/DA/ any other expenses will be paid for attending the interview.
  6. Only the candidates having essential qualifications would be entertained for the interview.
  7. Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination.
  8. The candidate intending to attend the walk-in interview, if any of his near or distant relatives is an employee of the ICAR/IARI, has to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, and relationship in writing before the interview. If At the time of the interview, such declaration is furnished and found that his relative is an employee of ICAR/IARI, such candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
  9. All the other candidates are also required compulsorily submit the declaration duly signed in the format annexed along with other documents.
  10. In case of any disputes, they will be resolved in the jurisdiction of the New Delhi court only.
