NOTIFICATION
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of “Junior Research Fellow” & Senior Research Fellow“ on a contract basis for the project entitled “Multi-centre collaboration International Centre for Genomic Medicine in Neuromuscular Diseases” under Dr.Nandeesh B N, Additional Professor of Neuropathology.
Post I
Name of the Post – Junior Research Fellow
No. of Posts – 01
Maximum Age limit – 30 years
Duration of Employment – 1 year (Initial appointment will be for 6 months which will be extendable depending upon the satisfactory performance of the candidate)
Salary Structure – Rs.39,370/- (Consolidated)
Essential Qualification – M.Sc in Life Science
Desirable
One year experience in
(i) Clinical
- Recruiting subjects into the study after seeking informed consent from patients, relatives, and healthy controls.
- Collection of blood, muscle, and other biological samples.
- Transporting all biological samples to the Neuromuscular laboratory under optimal conditions and archiving.
- Clinical data collection and entry into excel sheet: age, gender, pedigree chart, anthropometry, other clinical features, nerve conduction study data, etc (under supervision).
(ii) Laboratory:
- DNA extraction from blood, muscle, and other biological samples.
- Checking DNA quality/ quantity by nanodrop/ gel electrophoresis.
- Storage of stock and diluted DNA and cataloguing the same (register and excel sheet).
- PCR and sequencing by Sanger technique.
- MLPA.
- Data analysis: online tools
- Assist in other research activities of the Neuromuscular laboratory pertaining to mitochondrial disorders (as and when required).
- Cell culture work.
- Data entry (Register and excel sheet).

Name of the Post – Senior Research Fellow

Maximum Age limit – 35 years
Duration of Employment – 1 year (Initial appointment will be for 6 months which will be extendable depending upon the satisfactory performance of the candidate)
Salary Structure – Rs.44,500/-(Consolidated)
Essential Qualification – M.Sc in Life Science
