Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow under the DST-SERB Project entitled “Cryopreservation of in vitro propagated sheep spermatogonial stem cells and transplantation efficiency in sheep”. This recruitment is subjected to terms and conditions in force in ICAR for such appointments. General ICAR guidelines for contractual employment will be applicable. The appointment is purely on a temporary basis and there is no provision for absorption/re-employment in NIANP/ICAR after the termination of the project. The service of the person who is engaged will be automatically stand terminated with the termination of the project without assigning any reason thereof. Duration of the project – Up to August 2025 or completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
Age Limit – Upper age limit 28 years: Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH and women candidates will be extended as per DST guidelines.
Remuneration –
- Rs. 31,000.00/month + HRA for the first and second years.
- Rs. 35,000.00/month + HRA for the third year as per DST-SERB guidelines.
- HRA will be provided if no accommodation is provided (as per DST guidelines).
Essential Qualification – Master’s degree courses in the relevant subject (Animal Reproduction, Animal Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular biology and Bioinformatics) with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average OR Master’s degree (3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years master’s degree) in the life sciences with NET/GATE qualification (as per DST-SERB OM No: SB/S9/Z-06/2019 dated 23.4.19).

Preferred subjects: Animal Reproduction, Animal Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biotechnology, Molecular biology and Bioinformatics.
Desirable Qualification – The selected candidate has to carry out routine adult stem culture work, molecular biology techniques, various bioinformatics and statistical analyses of data etc. Thus, candidates having expertise in the above area will be preferred. Proof of experience in the form of research articles/publications needs to be submitted.
