MACS-Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) an autonomous Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India is committed to the promotion of science and technology with emphasis on high standards of Research and Development activities for the benefit of humankind and the nation. The current research activities encompass biological sciences and focus on six thematic areas Biodiversity & Palaeobiology, Bioenergy, Bioprospecting, Developmental Biology, Genetics & Plant Breeding and Nanobioscience.

Technical Staff (Group II)
Post I
NAME OF POST: Technical Assistant ‘B’
SCALE OF PAY: Level-6 in the Pay Matrix Rs.35400-112400
TOTAL NO. OF VACANCIES: One (01)

EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Discipline & No. of Vacancies: Bioenergy One (1)

Age Limit: 30 years
Essential/Desirable Qualifications for corresponding discipline:
Essential: 1st Class B.Sc. (Microbiology) with 3 years of experience in research OR M.Sc. (Microbiology).
Desirable: Experience and / or publications in the following (i) anaerobic culturing of extremophiles (ii) microbial taxonomy (iii) Next Generation Sequencing and bioinformatic analysis of pure cultures and complex communities (iv) metabolite profiling using GC / HPLC.

Age Limit: 28 years
Essential/Desirable Qualifications for corresponding discipline:
Essential: 1st Class B.Sc.(Microbiology) with one year of experience in research.
Desirable: i) M.Sc. in Microbiology ii) Experience in the field of a) Aerobic and anaerobic microbial culturing b) Metabolites profiling using GC/HPLC c) Anaerobic digestion lignocellulosic crops residues.
AGE LIMIT
The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Cast/ Scheduled Tribe and 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC and as per rules for ex-servicemen, physically handicapped and government servants etc.
Note: The crucial date for determining the age limit and eligibility shall be the closing date for the submission of online applications.

- Aspiring candidates may submit their applications along with their CVs online: http://arijob.ourlib.in/. Online submission of applications will commence on 29.10.2022 and will close on 27.11.2022. After submitting the online application, the candidate must send the hard copy (online application printout) to the Administrative Officer along with all necessary documents at the Institute address by indicating the name of the post applied for and should reach the Administrative Officer within 15 days from the last date of closure of online portal i.e. 12.12.2022.
- The envelope containing the complete application should be super-scribed as “Application for the post of …………………. with Post Code………………….. .”
- Applicants working in Government/ Semi-Government/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous bodies should apply through proper channels. If the application is not routed through the proper channel, then the applicant must produce the requisite ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer at the time of the skill test/interview. The specimen of the forwarding/ NOC is given below.
- Experience/employment certificates for work/research work must clearly indicate the date of joining, date of relieving post held and pay scale.
- Copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications, date of birth, Disability, Community (in case of SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates only) and experience should be submitted with the application. Candidates will have to produce the original certificates as and when required.
