Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, the Government of India wishes to engage the following research personnel (Indian national only) on a purely temporary basis. Field Biologist – 02 Positions
Project Title: Assessing human-peafowl conflcit and developing an action plan to reduce the conflicts in select zones of Tamil Nadu (Duration– 01 Year; Project PI– Dr. H.N. Kumara)
Essential Qualifications: Post graduate degree in Wildlife biology/ Ecology/ Zoology/ Environmental Science.
Desirable: Research experience in avifaunal studies/ Wildlife surveys. Experience in ecological data collection, analysis and Report writing. To communicate in Tamil, good command of English
& Good writing skills.Upper Age limit as of 15-Oct-2022: 28 years
Fellowship: Rs 25,000 (Consolidated)
Description of Work: The work involves extensive travel and stay at field sites with bare minimum facilities for the collection of field data on peafowl and conducting field experiments in agricultural fields, involving strenuous field data collection and analysis and writing periodic reports.

- The application form should be filled and submitted online along with self-attested scanned PDF copies of all supporting documents and testimonials uploaded (Please do NOT send hard copies of application forms).
- Only the shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview
- The final selection will be through an Interview to be conducted for the shortlisted candidates (Exact date, time and mode of interviews will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates by email)
- If selected, all original documents in support of qualifications, age, experience etc. should be produced by the candidate for verification before joining SACON. The hard copies of the filled-in application form along with self-attested true copies of all supporting documents should also be submitted at the time of joining.
GENERALTERMS & CONDITIONS
- Candidates applying for the above positions should possess all the essential Qualifications (with originals of supporting documents) as of the date of the application deadline.
- The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Challenged categories as per applicable Central Government norms.
- Selected candidates will be provided hostel accommodation at SACON as per the availability. Other allowances and benefits to the research personnel will be admissible as per the rules.
