Opening for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position as part of WorldFish funded project ‘Taking nutrition-sensitive carp-SIS polyculture technology to scale’ to be undertaken in the Centre for Climate and Environmental Studies (CCES) at IISER Kolkata

Project Details: The project intends to map Small Indigenous Fish Species (SIS) in the states of Assam and Odisha across scales of habitat and molecular level using a series of integrative approaches including high-throughput genomics. Duration: Initially for a period of one year and can be extended up to 3 years subject to satisfactory performance.

- More details: The position is purely temporary in nature. Only short-listed candidates will be called for the interview. The interview will be held in person in Kolkata or Guwahati. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Life Science/Zoology/Fisheries/Natural Science/ Biotechnology or Agricultural Science from a recognized University or equivalent with a minimum of 55% mark at CGPA level. Preference will be given to NET-S/GATE/ICAR NET or any other national exam-qualified candidates. Proven experience in conducting field work in freshwater systems or application of molecular biology tools in natural science studies including fisheries or experience in the taxonomy of SIS would be preferred.
