Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) is a public limited company, promoted by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and set up by All India Financial Institutions. Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at BCIL has been set up by DBT-BIRAC with the mandate to provide services to all the DBT autonomous institutes. The objective of TTO at BCIL is to enhance academia-industry linkages, strengthen the innovation ecosystem and provide increased opportunities for academia to translate knowledge into products and technologies.
Applications are invited for the following posts in DBT-BIRAC-NBM supported ‘Technology Transfer Office (TTO)’ at BCIL:
Post I
Name of the Post – Business Development Manager (Technology Transfer and Licensing)
No. of Posts – 1 (one)
Age Limit – 40 years (maximum)
Essential Qualifications – M. Tech / M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Life Sciences from a recognized University/ Institute.
Desirable –
- Ph. D. in Life Sciences
- RTTP / Diploma/Certificate in technology transfer / licensing from a recognized
organization.
Desired Experience and Skills –
More than 5 years of work experience in technology evaluation/ valuation/ licensing.
- Experience in undertaking technology due diligence including market research and technology valuation.
- Proven experience in forging successful collaborations and technology licenses between academia and industry.
- Authored peer-reviewed publications/ review articles/ white papers/ case studies
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Work Profile –
- Undertake technical, regulatory and market assessment of technologies, their techno-commercial feasibility and valuation.
- Identify, review and build relationships with potential partners/ licensees through primary and secondary research.
- Liaise with partners, negotiate terms and finalize agreements and contracts.
- Lead the branding activities for BCIL TTO through the preparation of corporate presentations, outreach material, mailers and participation in relevant meetings/ events.
- Preparation of white papers on technology transfer/ licensing.
Salary – Rs. 60,000 – Rs. 70,000/- per month (Consolidated, commensurate with qualifications and experience)
Post II
Name of the Post – IP Manager
No. of Posts – 1 (one)
Age Limit – 40 years (maximum)
Essential Qualifications – M.Tech. / Ph. D. / M.Sc. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology from a recognized University.
Desirable – Qualified Patent Agent and/or suitable degree in Intellectual Property Rights from a recognized law college/ institute.
Desired Experience and Skills
3-4 years of work experience in dealing with Intellectual property (IP) rights-related tasks/assignments.
- Good experience in IP analytics and IP Due diligence in all fields of life sciences
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of patent law, filing and prosecution in India and other jurisdictions
- Experience in working on the formulation of institutional IP Policy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work Profile –
- Conduct all IP analytics assignments
- Coordinate with institutes for their IP management requirements including IP
analytics; IP filing and prosecution; and IP advisory. - IP due diligence for technology assessment reports
- Plan and organize capacity-building programmes on IP
Salary – Rs. 50,000 – Rs. 60,000/- per month (Consolidated, commensurate with qualifications and experience)
Note:
The above vacancy is project-based and on a contractual basis, initially for a period of one (1) year. The contract is extendable depending on the annual performance review.
