The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) is currently seeking applications from Indian nationals for the position of ‘Associate Scientist – Crop Physiology’ to carry out research work under Cluster- Crop Physiology and Modelling, Global Research Program- Accelerated Crop Improvement as follows –
Name of the Post – Associate Scientist
Experience – 2 – 4 yrs
Location – Hyderabad

Responsibilities –
- Develop necessary tools and bring transformative insight to the phenotyping team and crop improvement programs
- Identify the opportunities and challenges in designing and delivering multidisciplinary-based supporting solutions
- Advance functional team thinking to new approaches
- Explore new technologies for enhancing quality of project outputs and expanding the relevance of the product across organizations
- Provide meaningful insight to stakeholders and donor organizations to build and expand collaborative networks with key partners
- Create new process approaches which accelerate delivery of the team outputs to the primary stakeholders of the project.
Qualifications and Experience –
- PhD degree in Crop Science/ Physiology/ Genetics/ Biotechnology with a good understanding of Plant Biology and Agricultural Systems or related disciplines with 2 years of postdoc experience
- Experience in Crop Phenotyping, Sensors Technology, and Statistical Analysis.
Technical Competencies/ Key Skills –
- Experience in project management (coordinating project activities with multi-disciplinary teams, tracking project progress, financials and deliverables)
- Proficiency in drafting high-quality project proposals, research articles, and project reports
- Proficiency in English communication skills (both written and spoken)
- Ability to interact and work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
- Creativity and ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
- Ability to deal tactfully under pressure situations, deliver under tight schedules, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Multi-language competency will be an added advantage.
