VACANCY NOTIFICATION FOR CONTRACTUAL POST

Applications is invited for the project post mentioned below on a contractual basis from the eligible candidates in the prescribed proforma appended.

Name of the Post – Research Assistant

Name of the Project – “Establishment of a ·test of cure ‘ tool for monitoring Visceral
Leishmaniasis and Post kala-azar dermal Leishmaniasis; a multi centric study”

Age limit – Not exceeding 28 years (Age relaxation shall apply as per GOT rules)

Duration – 1 year, extendable upto one more year

Place of Posting – New Delhi

The recruited project staff is eligible for leave as per rules and will have to give an undertaking at the time of joining. The interviews for the advertised post will be conducted in virtual mode via video conferencing and the date of which shall be intimated later to the eligible candidates

The conditions for employment will be the same as that of the project staff on a contract basis. Candidates working/have worked under projects in ICMR Institutes/centres will be given ‘One time’ age relaxation as per the institute rules and regulations. Age, qualification, experience etc. will be reckoned as on the date of the interview. Hostel accommodation of any kind is not available at the institute. 2. These positions are meant for temporary projects and co-terminus with the project
3. Engagement in the above advertised Project Human Resource Positions will depend upon the availability of funds, functional requirements and approval of the Competent Authority. Therefore, we are not committed to filling up all the advertised Project Human Resource Positions and the process In liable to be withdrawn/ cancelled/ modified at any time.
4. Qualification & Experience should be In a relevant discipline/ field and from an Institution of repute. Experience should have been gained after acquiring a minimum essential qualification.
5. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee the selection.
6. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government DepartmenU Organizations are not eligible to apply.
7. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the Interview/ Personal discussion and candidates have to arrange transport/ accommodation themselves
8. ICMR-NIP reserves the right to consider or reject any application/ candidature, without assigning any reason.
9. Submission of false or wrong information during the process of selection shall disqualify the candidature at any stage.
10. The persons engaged in Project Human Resource Positions cannot be permitted to register for Ph .D., due to time constraints.
11. The persons engaged in Project Human Resource Positions will normally be posted at the study site; however, they can be posted to any other site in the interest of research work. They are liable to serve in any part of the country.
12. The persons engaged in Project Human Resource Positions shall not have any claim on a regular post in ICMR or in any of its institutes/ Centers or in any Department of Government of India and their project term with breaks or without breaks in any of the multiple projects will not confer any right for further assignment or transfer to any other project or appointment absorption/ regularization of service in funding agency or in
    ICMR-N IP. Benefits of Provident Fund, Pension Scheme, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim, Staff Quarters and other facilities applicable to the regular staff of ICMR etc. are not admissible to the Project Human Resource Positions.
13. Successful candidates will normally be engaged in Project Human Resource Positions initially for a period of one year or less, depending upon the tenure of the project and functional requirements. Continuation / Extension to the engagement of Project Human Resource Positions will be depending upon evaluation of performance, tenure of the project, availability of funds, functional requirements and approval of the competent
    authority. The maximum term of any Project Human Resource Position in any or multiple projects, with breaks or without breaks shall be five years only.
14. ICMR-NIP reserves the right to terminate the Project Human Resource Position even during the agreed contract period or extended contract period without assigning any reason.

Essential qualification – M.Sc in Life Science

Desirable –

• Working experience in scientific research laboratory especially in molecular diagnostics.
• Hand on experience in DNA, RNA isolation, PCR, Realtime PCR, primer designing and DNA sequencing.
